For the past three seasons the lone bright spot on the New York Jets offense has been star wide receiver Garrett Wilson. But as the team begins a new era under head coach Aaron Glenn, it appears that Wilson wants no part of the Green & White anymore.
According to NFL reporter James Palmer of Underdog Fantasy and Bleacher Report, Wilson is expected to request a trade this offseason.
The news isn't much of a surprise as Wilson hinted is discontent at being in New York on a few occasions throughout the Jets' miserable 2024 season that ended in a 5-12 record. Jets head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas were fired amid the chaos.

But despite having inconsistent or downright terrible quarterback play for large stretches of the last three years, Wilson was the one player who continuously produced on Sundays.
Wilson has had over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his three seasons since going to the Jets No. 10 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022 and this past season had his best year yet with 101 receptions for 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns - all career highs.
While the Jets should be in a position to offer Wilson a lucrative contract extension this offseason, he may not be inclined to accept one from a team that's had so much trouble doing even the most basic of things correct, let alone struggling to make the postseason for the past decade-plus.
There's no shortage of NFL teams that would happily make a trade to bring Wilson into the fold either. People have been musing what kind of role he could have in their offense since before the season even ended.
But the Jets are going to make their best effort to keep him in New York for as long as possible. If they are forced to trade Wilson, he probably won't come cheap.
Where will Garrett Wilson be playing in 2025?
