Jets To Acquire OL Jordan Meredith From Raiders

Meredith is being dealt from the Raiders to the Jets, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. The pending 2027 free agent will now prepare to play in New York as a result. Meredith had spent each of his first four NFL seasons in Vegas.

A 2027 sixth-round pick is being exchanged for Meredith and a seventh-round selection in 2029, Rapoport adds. The Jets will take on Meredith’s $3.52MM salary for this season as a result of the swap, with the Raiders clearing that amount from their books. Meredith, 28, signed his RFA tender this spring.

After making just one regular-season appearance during his rookie season, the former undrafted free agent saw his workload increase with the Raiders. Meredith logged 17 appearances in 2022, and he has totaled 19 starts over the past two seasons. The Western Kentucky product primarily handled center duties in 2025 before an ankle injury ended his campaign. With the Raiders adding Tyler Linderbaum in free agency, Meredith was in line to compete for a first-team guard spot. Instead, he will look to offer experienced depth on his new team.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler notes the Jets were in the market for an addition up front, so this trade comes as little surprise. New York will have plenty of continuity along the O-line in terms of returning starters from 2025, but Meredith will join left guard Dylan Parham as a new arrival coming off a Raiders stint. Team and player will certainly be hoping for stronger play from Meredith and Parham than what they were collectively able to achieve in Vegas last year.

As things stand, Meredith can be expected to handle second-team duties at guard (or potentially center) with the Jets. If needed, though, he could fill in as a starting presence at either position. An impressive showing could help lead to a notable unrestricted free agent market next spring.
