Jim Harbaugh Gave Every Chargers Player An Awesome Gift

Jim Harbaugh thanked his Los Angeles Chargers players with a symbolic gift.

In his first season back in the NFL, Harbaugh has led the Chargers to an 8-4 start. Adapting a hard-nosed playing style reminiscent of his Michigan squads, Los Angeles has allowed an NFL-low 15.7 points per game following Sunday's 17-13 road win over the Atlanta Falcons.

The Chargers can make a major statement when opposing the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Harbaugh sent his players to work with a present embodying his philosophy.

Per ESPN's Khris Rhim, Harbaugh gave each Chargers player a lunch pail with their name and some words of inspiration. Rhim posted a video of Chargrs kicker Cameron Dicker sharing his box, which said "Stalwart" on the front and "Relentless. Courageous Never Careless" on the back.

Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley called the lunch pails "just a little something for busting our a**."

The lunch pails aren't Harbaugh's first gift. Before the season started, he gave everyone a blue-collared shirt with a Chargers logo and name tag.

Per Rhim, Harbaugh discussed how much he loves the word "stalwart" in September.

"I know I've told you some words I don't like, but that is my favorite of all words: stalwart," Harbaugh said. "As a coach, you just don't get that many opportunities to be a stalwart, but as a player? You sure do."

Harbaugh has witnessed many stalwarts spark a turnaround from a team that went 5-12 last season.

Justin Herbert has thrown just one interception after losing longtime top target Keenan Allen last offseason. Henley leads the team with 114 tackles, Tuli Tuipulotu has seven sacks, and Khalil Mack has forced two fumbles.

The Chargers are on track to make their fourth playoff appearance in the last 15 years. With five weeks remaining, they control the AFC's first wild-card spot and hold a 2.5-game cushion over the No. 7-seeded Indianapolis Colts.

Harbaugh's Chargers can stay in the AFC West chase by defeating the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Sunday night's game starts at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
