Los Angeles has seen historic wildfires ravage parts of the city and surrounding areas, leading to at least 27 deaths, over 30 people missing, thousands of acres burned and thousands of homes destroyed.
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh's team was eliminated from the NFL playoffs last Saturday, but Harbaugh isn't just sitting at home in the midst of the devastation in his city. On Thursday night, Harbaugh went to visit with first responders battling the fires, which are still not fully contained.
LAFD said it would love a morale boost, so Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh went up to the base camp off PCH in the Palisades on Thursday night. Harbaugh met firefighters, police and members of the national guard.

"LAFD said it would love a morale boost, so Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh went up to the base camp off PCH in the Palisades on Thursday night," ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote on social media. "Harbaugh met firefighters, police and members of the National Guard."
The Chargers have pledged to donate $200K to the American Red Cross, LA Fire Department, Team Rubicon and pet rescue organizations sheltering displaced animals. Last week, Harbaugh noted that the resolve the people in Los Angeles have had while dealing with such tragedy has inspired him.
"It's powerful, what we're witnessing," Harbaugh said last week. "Fellow man, fellow citizens of Los Angeles, it is inspiring the way they've jumped in, the way they've pulled together, doing anything they can to protect their homes, their neighbors homes. Not just their own. It's powerful, It's resonating. I can speak for me, Sarah, my kids and my family, our thoughts and prayers are with all that are in this daily fight."
Harbaugh visited first responders even though he has two medical procedures looming. Harbaugh said on Wednesday that he will “soon” have an ablation to treat an irregular heartbeat and will be undergoing hip replacement surgery as well.
Based on the video, Harbaugh's visit with first responders was welcomed and a much-needed morale boost for a group of folks saving lives.
