J.J. Watt shares big update on brother T.J.’s knee injury

Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt suffered a knee injury during Saturday night’s win over the Baltimore Ravens, but it sounds like tests revealed some fairly good news.

Former NFL star J.J. Watt, T.J.’s older brother, said Sunday that T.J. has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain. J.J. called the result a “best case scenario” and said T.J. should be good to go after a “couple weeks of rest/recovery.”

Everything else looks pristine.

T.J. hurt his knee moments after he racked up his second sack of the game, which gave him 19 for the season. A teammate inadvertently bumped into him on the play.

The Steelers kept their playoff hopes alive with their 17-10 victory over the Ravens. They now need either the Buffalo Bills to lose to the Miami Dolphins or the Jacksonville Jaguars to beat or tie the Tennessee Titans.

Initially, it sounded like Watt would miss several weeks, meaning he would not be available if the Steelers reach the postseason. If J.J.’s update is accurate, T.J. should have a chance to play in the Divisional Round if Pittsburgh were to get that far.
