Joe Buck Admits He's An 'Idiot' With His Super Bowl 2025 Pick

Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles promises to be a close game but almost everyone is picking the Chiefs to win.

A lot of media pundits aren't willing to bet against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs and it makes sense when you look at his resume. He's already won three Super Bowls and has thrown for 5,557 yards through the air with 43 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 20 playoff games.

It doesn't matter who he is playing, he almost always comes up with a clutch moment to bring the Chiefs out on top.

Despite that, Joe Buck, the lead play-by-play analyst for ESPN's Monday Night Football, isn't going with the Chiefs. He's taking the Eagles but feels like an "idiot" for it.

“I guess only an idiot, and I qualify, would pick against the Chiefs in a close game,” Buck said, via Rob Tornoe of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “I feel like this is where Vic Fangio gets it done for the city of Philadelphia.”

Fangio is the defensive coordinator of the Eagles and has overseen one of the best defenses in the league this year. He's going to have to come up with a great plan to slow down Mahomes and this high-flying Chiefs offense.

The Chiefs' offense has been dynamite during the playoffs, so it's going to be a great chess match between Fangio and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid since he calls the plays.

It'll be the same case on the opposite side of the ball with Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo going up against Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Both coordinators have done a great job with their respective units this season so it'll be fun seeing their chess match as well.

Kickoff for Super Bowl LIX will be at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
