The success story of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is like a Hollywood script.

After tearing the ACL and MCL in his left knee during his rookie season, he led the squad to a stint in Super Bowl LVI.

His three postseason victories already match the franchise’s all-time record set by Boomer Esiason.

He also won Comeback Player of the Year honors and led the league in completion percentage.

Burrow’s achievements are amazing, considering poor play by their offensive line.

The Bengals allowed 55 sacks during the regular season, third-most in the league.

Despite reaching the final game of the season, Burrow also took 19 sacks in the playoffs, including nine against the Tennessee Titans during their Divisional Round game.

The former LSU standout could have evaded some of those sacks if he had the speed.

Speaking of which, he and teammate Ja’Marr Chase had a funny exchange regarding Burrow’s mobility.

Chase said, “Joey B swear he fast y’all like 20 MPH fast.”

To which Burrow responded with, “One might say… sneaky fast.”

But one positive trait for Burrow is that he isn’t unfazed by the bright lights and the big crowds.

He could have folded under pressure during the playoffs but calmly led every Bengals drive.

Of course, it would be impossible for Burrow to defeat Chase in a race.

However, the Bengals made sure that he need not run that much by upgrading his protection.

Bengals Improve The Pocket Around Burrow

The Bengals revamped their offensive line by bringing in guard Alex Cappa from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

They also added center Ted Karras and right tackle La’el Collins.

Those players will establish a wall between Burrow and the opposing team’s pass rushers.

That way, Burrow need not scramble out of the pocket as much as before to make good plays.
