Quarterback Joe Burrow described the first day of Cincinnati Bengals training camp as " poorly" for the offense. He made sure that wasn't the case on day two.
Burrow and Cincinnati's starting offense attacked all levels of the practice field for the first time this week and found connections across the board to players of all kinds of status.

Wednesday's first practice of camp featured a hungry Al Golden-led defense with something prove. The side without possession of the football usually starts off with an easier task as the offense has to find its chemistry and timing again after weeks away from each other.
It also helps when stretching the field becomes an option again.
Burrow's first deep pass during 11-on-11 work landed in Tee Higgins' hands way down the field for six points.

Higgins had a busy day in the late morning heat before sitting out the final team portion of the day. He was seen stretching with a trainer on the sideline. If it had anything to do with the humidity and sun, he was not alone. Cornerback Josh Newton had to take a breather and defensive end Myles Murphy had to be carted back to the locker room.
It was just that kind of day for the defense, who also watched Ja'Marr Chase do his usual thing with Burrow throwing him the ball.

Burrow is ramping up for a different-looking August than he's been accustomed to. He's expected to play more in the preseason next month as Cincinnati looks to start the season on a the right foot. The Bengals are 1-9 in the first two weeks of the last five seasons with Burrow under center.
Not every day is going to be perfect in the journey to Week 1, as evidenced by Wednesday, but it doesn't take much for this offense to even the score with the defense. It's almost the exact same group as last year's which finished sixth in scoring and eighth in yards per play.
Just like the temperature, Burrow and his unit fired back with some heat.
