Joe Burrow gets standing ovation from Bengals fans in return to field

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has completed his comeback by starting Cincinnati's final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

While taking the field for the first time since Week 11 of the 2020 campaign, Burrow received a standing ovation from the crowd at Paul Brown Stadium.

Burrow's first drive back wasn't anything spectacular as he made a couple of handoffs and attempted a pass to Ja'Marr Chase, which should have been a catch, but was dropped as the wide receiver continues to struggle this summer.

Burrow tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee during Week 11 of the 2020 campaign and had been ahead of schedule in his recovery process during the offseason.

Despite a 2-7-1 2020 record, the LSU product was having a solid season before suffering the injury. Burrow completed 65.3% of his passes for 2,688 yards and 13 touchdowns against five interceptions. He also ran for 142 yards and three scores.

When Cincinnati opens the regular season against the Minnesota Vikings on its home turf next month, Burrow will surely get a much larger standing ovation from the crowd.
