Joe Burrow is famous for more than just what he does on the football field. The franchise quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals is also well known for his taste in fashion, and willingness to flaunt it for the world to see.
Whether it's taking on the Met Gala in New York, the Vogue World fashion show in Paris, or simply walking from his car to the locker room before games, Burrow can put together an outfit with the best of them.
All of that started from a very young age, and with help from his mother.
During the second season of the Netflix original series "Quarterback," Burrow revealed his mom, Robin Burrow, was the source of his style and affinity for clothes.
"My mom was in fashion merchandising when I was little, so she's always played a role in that," Burrow said in episode two of the series. "Buying school clothes, and she would always get me colorful shirts that I would like to wear."
Burrow now has his own stylist, Kyle Smith, who helps him pick out pre-game fits and pair accessories with garments. His preferences and particular nature can be traced back to when his wardrobe was curated by the matriarch of his house.
"I mean, honestly, I feel like from the time he was kind of little he was always a little bit particular about his clothes," Robin said of her son. "He liked what he liked for sure. I think it's exciting that he shows his personality in those ways."
Mom knows best.
"I didn't really know what kind of clothes I liked yet," Burrow said. "But I liked colors, and it helps when you're confident in your own skin. And I would say just evolved from there."
It's part of Burrow's lifestyle that transcends the normal fan of the game. Fashion has become an integral part of the superstar athlete's lifestyle, and it's clearly something Burrow values.
Now we know it's nothing new for him or his family.
