The praise for the Cleveland Browns defense has poured in throughout the week after putting in a dominant performance in the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow's quarterback coach, former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer, isn't worried about his client's performance and instead credits the Browns defense.
In a recent episode on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Palmer said, "when I do watch the tape, I think that that had more to do with Cleveland than Cincinnati. I think in a month, we're going to be talking about that pass rush the same way we're talking about Dallas right now. We're actually going to be talking about Za'Darius Smith is that right? The new addition right? That addition, he's not Jadeveon Clowney. He's a game wrecker."
The Bengals had trouble protecting Burrow from the pass rush that Cleveland's new front and new defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz, schemed up. They had him under duress the entire game on their way to racking up 2 sacks and 10 hits on the quarterback. You can catch the full clip below.
