The Steelers and Penn State CB Joey Porter Jr. have been linked together for some time now. His father played for Pittsburgh and now Porter Jr. reveals what it would mean to play for his dad's old team.
"I think it would mean a lot to my family. Been in the Pittsburgh area a while, staying home would mean a lot," Porter Jr. told reporters at the NFL Combine.

His father, Joey Porter, played linebacker for the Steelers from 1999-2006, totaling 60 sacks which ranks fifth in franchise history. If he were to be drafted by Pittsburgh, it would be quite the story.
The 22-year-old had 115 tackles, one interception, 17 passes defensed, one sack and one forced fumble in his collegiate career as a Nittany Lion. And Porter Jr. was asked about his low interception numbers.
"I definitely didn't get a target a lot, especially towards the back end of the season. But I knew what it was, I knew that it was a respect thing so I just had to keep my composure and just keep playing great football," he said.
The Steelers currently hold pick No. 17 in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft while Porter Jr. ranks as Pro Football Focus' No. 21 overall prospect on its big board.
It seems like there's a very real possibility that Pittsburgh could be calling Porter Jr. on night one of the draft, but there is still a lot of time between now and April 27.
