New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh has been on the job for a little over two months and he already has player issues.
Three-time Pro Bowler Dexter Lawrence has asked for a trade from the Giants and is believed to be one of several players on the team (mostly on defense) eyeing the exit before Harbaugh even coaches his first practice. Pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter and Brian Burns are all believed to want out too.
Naturally, the topic was brought up when Harbaugh spoke to the media this week. Per SNY, Harbaugh made it clear that "everybody" is tradeable.
“I think he’s a great player,” Harbaugh said, via SNY. “I’m excited about him. I was fired up to see him today. He looks great, in great shape. I’m thinking about him on the field. I’m thinking about getting him plugged into our defense and getting him rolling. You want to talk about is he a trade possibility? Everybody’s tradable. Everybody.”
"Everybody is tradeable. Everybody."

Giants fans were quite intrigued by the idea that every single player on the roster would be available:
"Surely doesn’t sound like Kayvon is untouchable. Went from 'we want Dex here and he wants to be here' to 'everybody is trade-able' when asked about Kayvon and his trade status. Calls him a great player but doesn’t say no or something to that extent," one user remarked.
"Definitely makes you think. I can’t see the #Giants trading easily their best player but you can’t rule anything out at this point," wrote another.
"My takeaway is this is just more evidence that Harbaugh has personnel control. Schoen can have the GM title and he can talk like he's the guy, but JH runs the show now," a third wrote.
Harbaugh is most likely exaggerating. He's not going to put starting QB Jaxson Dart on the block and probably wants to make sure he at least sees players like Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo in his system before deciding on their future.
But other than maybe those few guys, there could be a lot of people on the roster whose jobs aren't nearly as safe as they once were.
