John Harbaugh already facing huge question with Giants

Bringing John Harbaugh into the New York Giants' franchise as their head coach was a huge step in the right direction. But was it enough? Will Harbaugh be able to turn this troubled franchise around on a dime?

That's the question. Now, the Giants have a lot going for them. On top of Harbaugh, they have one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL in Jaxson Dart. They have a slew of new talent from the draft, and they have the kind of coaching staff to train and mold rookies.

That's all good news. But one NFL analyst thinks it won't be enough. At least, it wasn't enough for him to give the Giants a high spot on his power rankings going into training camp.

John Harbaugh has to address the elephant in the room

In a story out on Tuesday, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports ranks every NFL team heading into training camp, and he has the Giants in not such a great spot. They're No. 21. Why so low? It has to do with one critical player.

"The good news is RB Cam Skattebo is healthy enough to do backflips," Vacchiano said, joking, of course. "But WR Malik Nabers' return from a knee injury isn’t as clear. No one wants to give a timetable or talk about Week 1, which is usually a bad sign."

When he's healthy, Nabers is absolutely unstoppable. During his 2024 rookie season, he recorded 109 receptions, 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He was even named an All-Pro. But his 2025 season was cut short in Week 4 by a knee injury, so now it's about getting him fully back to 100%.

Harbaugh said Nabers "looked good" on Wednesday in the wide receiver's first full-team practice since his injury, according to ESPN.

This is a positive sign for the Giants, as Nabers is working his way back to being healthy enough this season.
