The NFL season is just two weeks away from kicking off. Luckily for John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens, they won't have to worry about losing their MVP to a serious injury.
During Wednesday's practice, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was inadvertently knocked to the ground. According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, the two-time MVP's foot was stepped on roughly 90 minutes into practice. He left the field early with a team doctor and trainer. Naturally, that report had Baltimore fans deeply concerned.
Jackson was outstanding for the Ravens in 2024, completing 66.7% of his passes for 4,172 yards with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions. The four-time Pro Bowl quarterback also had 915 rushing yards and four scores on 139 carries.
On Thursday afternoon, Harbaugh provided an update on Jackson's health. Thankfully, it's extremely promising.
Harbaugh said Jackson is fine despite being stepped on at practice. Baltimore's medical staff made him undergo X-rays just to be sure.
"Prayers do get answered," Harbaugh told reporters.
The Ravens held Jackson out of practice Thursday since he's still sore. Overall though, Baltimore dodged a bullet.

He says Lamar Jackson is fine after getting stepped on. He got an X-ray to be sure.
Despite already having 20,059 passing yards, 6,173 rushing yards and 199 total touchdowns in his career, Jackson still has something to prove. That's because he's still chasing his first Super Bowl ring.
Although there's pressure on Jackson to succeed in the playoffs, he refuses to let that affect his mindset heading into Week 1.
"To be honest, I'm really not trying to think that far [ahead], because every time we had those discussions, man, we get to the playoffs, but we don't punch in," Jackson said in June. "We don't finish, so I'm pretty much just trying to finish camp the correct way and then get ready for the [Buffalo] Bills. I'm not really trying to think about the Super Bowl yet."
Speaking of the Bills, the Ravens will square off with them on Sept. 7. That'll be the first "Sunday Night Football" game of the 2025 season.
Jackson had 254 passing yards, 39 rushing yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Baltimore's playoff loss to Buffalo. We're expecting an even better performance in Week 1. That's if he's healthy, of course.
