John Harbaugh has classy gesture on his way out of Baltimore

John Harbaugh quickly landed with a new team after he was fired by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month, and the longtime coach had a classy gesture toward his former team on Saturday.

Harbaugh, who was named the new head coach of the New York Giants on Jan. 17, took out a full-page advertisement in Saturday's edition of The Baltimore Sun thanking the Ravens, their fans, the city of Baltimore and his former players and coaching staff.

"To Steve Bisciotti: Thank you for creating an environment rooted in maintaining a standard of excellence," Harbaugh wrote.

"To the players who worked hard, fought, believed and always played with the hearts of Lions, THANK YOU. Your commitment to one another, to the standard, and to this city is what made our success happen. Coaching you has been one of the greatest privileges and joys of my life.

"To our coaches, your devotion and work ethic were unrivaled. To our front office and all the support staff, your dedication was the foundation of the success.

"Most of all, to the people of Baltimore: Thank you for embracing my family and for allowing us to grow alongside you. This city's grit, resilience and authenticity are unmatched. The pride you take in your team reflects the pride you take in one another. That is something truly special."

John Harbaugh is already making his mark on the Giants

Harbaugh led the Ravens to the playoffs 12 times in 18 seasons, including when they won the Super Bowl in 2012. His resume speaks for itself, which is why he immediately became the top head coach candidate available after he was fired by Baltimore.

The 63-year-old Harbaugh has now been tasked with helping to turn around a struggling Giants franchise. He has young quarterback Jaxson Dart to build around, and he has already made some significant changes within the organization.

The Giants and Ravens do not play each other during the regular season in 2026, but it is safe to assume Harbaugh will be getting a warm reception if and when he returns to Baltimore to face his former team.
