John Harbaugh has strange take on Ravens' laundry list of injuries

Injuries are an unfortunate part of life in the NFL, and every team must navigate their way around them. However, recently, the Baltimore Ravens' injury report seems far longer than others throughout the league.

Heading into their Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, the Ravens already have several players out. Nevertheless, head coach John Harbaugh isn't concerned, telling reporters Friday that he felt "good" about the direction of the team's injured players.

"It becomes a concern if they're going to be season-ending injuries, and I think those are the ones you really hope to avoid, and pray to avoid," Harbaugh said, via the Ravens. "We've had two of those, we've had J.K. [Dobbins] and possibly Ardarius [Washington] — the rest of the guys are a few weeks, a week, two weeks, [away]. We thought we might have a couple guys back this week. They'll be working for next week. ... I feel good about it, and I feel good about the guys that are going to get an opportunity to play this week. They're excited."

Among the Ravens ruled out for Sunday's contest include WR Odell Beckham Jr., RB Justice Hill and T Ronnie Stanley on offense. Meanwhile, they'll be without several starters on defense, including CB Marlon Humphrey and S Marcus Williams.

Adding more context to the Ravens sticky situation, more than a quarter's worth of their salary cap ($57.23 million) will miss the Colts game, per Ryan Mink of the team's website.

The good news is few teams have overcome injuries like the Ravens. According to data from mangameslost.com, the Ravens have not only averaged more injuries than most in the NFL since 2009, but they've found a way to be successful despite their bad luck.

On Sunday, Baltimore will catch a break, taking on a retooling Colts team without rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. However, at some point, the Ravens' list of injuries will catch up to them, and if things don't improve, it'll be fair game to question how the franchise handles player health.
