As expected, former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh didn’t need much time to land on his feet.
He became the leading candidate for multiple head-coaching positions as soon as he was let go. And while he initially chose not to take any interviews, he’s now ready to pursue the next challenge in his career.
Considering that, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero revealed three teams that Harbaugh will consider for his next chapter.
"Former Ravens coach John Harbaugh continues to gather information on potential destinations, and the expectation is he’ll interview with the Giants, Titans and Falcons by the end of the week," Pelissero wrote on X. "Other teams remain interested. But those three appear to have the inside track."
Other teams like the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins will also probably be in the mix. Whether he’ll be interested in meeting with them remains to be seen. Also, Mike Tomlin’s departure sets the table for an unlikely move to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Harbaugh has 11 double-digit-win seasons in 18 years as a head coach. As a former Super Bowl-winning coach who ran a team for nearly two decades, he has the pedigree to handpick his next destination.
That being said, he also comes with some baggage. No NFL coach has blown more double-digit leads than him since 2008 (26), and his game-management issues might come back to haunt him again, especially if he brings his usual coaching staff along with him.
