John Harbaugh could pull a Jim Harbaugh if Ravens win title

If the Baltimore Ravens win it all this year, John Harbaugh is open to continuing what is now apparently a Harbaugh family tradition.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, the Ravens head coach was asked about his brother Jim getting a tattoo after winning the national championship at Michigan last season. John said that he would not necessarily be opposed to following suit if the Ravens win the Super Bowl.

“I mean I’m not afraid of getting a tattoo, I want to make it clear,” said John, per Baltimore Beatdown. “If we win a Super Bowl I could probably be talked into something, but it’s probably going to have an “I” and an “A” in it.

“Any tattoo I have is going to start with [my wife] Ingrid and [my daughter] Allison,” John added. “Family first, man. I’m pretty sure Jim probably got that [done] too. If I look at that closely, I bet you there’s something in there that says Sarah [Jim’s wife] on it.”

Jim Harbaugh, who is now the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, had famously promised his players at Michigan last season that he would get a commemorative tattoo if the team went 15-0 and won the national title. The Wolverines delivered, beating Washington in the CFP title game to complete their perfect season. Jim also delivered on his promise by getting an interesting-looking tattoo.

As for John, he already led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory in the 2012 season and then got the team back to their first AFC title game since then last season. We know that John likes to party, so it definitely wouldn’t be a stretch for him to follow in his younger brother’s footsteps if Baltimore can scale the mountain again.
