At least one suitor has officially emerged for former Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh.
The Ravens parted ways with Harbaugh just 48 hours after losing their regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished his time in Baltimore with a 180-113 record and a Super Bowl title.
While speaking to the media Wednesday afternoon, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh opened up about his older brother's future in the NFL. He made it clear that he'd like to see John coaching a team in the NFC.
"As I told him, whatever team he goes to is going to be formidable," Jim Harbaugh said. "Just hope it's in the NFC."
Well, Jim might get his wish. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the New York Giants "really like" John Harbaugh. They're expected to have a meeting at some point next week.
"John Harbaugh really likes the Giants. They really like him. There’s going to be an interview set up," Russini said. "They’re hoping for the weekend, if not, next week to get him in the building."
According to Aditi Kinkhabwala of CBS Sports, there are at least two teams that don't have head-coaching vacancies that have shown interest in hiring Harbaugh.
“Yes, he is the No. 1 candidate,” Kinkhabwala said. “It’s not just one team that currently has a coach that has inquired about John Harbaugh, I’ve been told it’s two teams that haven’t yet moved on from their coach that have made inquiries about John Harbaugh.”
Depending on how Wild Card Weekend plays out, teams like the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles could join the sweepstakes for Harbaugh.
