John Harbaugh says vulgar tweet 'out of character' for Lamar Jackson

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson ruffled some feathers Sunday evening after sending a profanity-filled tweet at a fan following Baltimore’s 28-27 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jackson quickly deleted the tweet, which had nearly 15,000 likes before it was taken down, but the 25-year-old QB didn’t come out of the incident unscathed as Ravens head coach John Harbaugh disclosed that he spoke with Jackson about his anger-fueled actions.

"Really (I) just beg guys not to get into the Twitter world right after the game, especially after a loss,” Harbaugh told reporters on Monday. “It's never going to be positive, it's not going to be a nice place. I think that's kind of reflected in Lamar's response because what he said was just so out of character for him. That's not the way he speaks. That's not the way he talks. That's not the words he ever uses. I've never heard him say things like that before. …I'm sure he's frustrated, just like we all are. That's just a place you don't want to live right after a game. I know he understands that."

Harbaugh added that Jackson’s competitive nature got the best of him and he needs to improve on his struggles with getting baited on social media.
