Jokes Pouring in After Cowboys' Quarterback Move

The Dallas Cowboys made one of their biggest moves of the offseason on Thursday, sending a fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for quarterback Joe Milton and a seventh-round pick.

Of course, there's no doubt that as long as Dak Prescott is fully healthy, he'll be the team's starter by Week 1, as he's set to enter the first season of his four-year, $240 million extension.

However, the team did lose backup Cooper Rush, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens in free agency, and when filling in for an injured Prescott in 2024, led them to a 4-4 record in eight starts.

The move has since garnered a lot of attention, and many social media users are using it as an excuse to poke fun at both Prescott and the Cowboys' organization.

"W for the cowboys he’s better than Dak tbf," said one comment.

"You mean Joe Milton has a new backup in Dak Prescott?" said another.

"Woowwwww. Can't wait for the qb controversy lol," a third added.

A fourth stated, "Cowboys legitimately have no idea what they’re doing man it’s hilarious.

"Dallas found there new starting quarterback," a fifth continued.

"Dallas has the worst QB core in the NFL," said another.

In Milton's one appearance for the Patriots in 2024, he did put up some solid numbers, completing 22-of-29 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown, zero interceptions and a 111.4 passer rating.

However, the backup spot isn't a sure thing for him, as the Cowboys also have Will Grier on the roster, who in two career starts has compiled 228 yards, zero touchdowns and four interceptions.
