Gable Steveson is increasingly positioning himself as one of the most intriguing prospects in combat sports.

An Olympic gold medallist from Tokyo 2021 and a two-time NCAA champion, the American heavyweight has already built an elite reputation through wrestling and is now transitioning into mixed martial arts.

Steveson has started his MMA journey with a perfect 3-0 record, all wins coming by first-round stoppage. Training alongside Jon Jones has further raised expectations around how quickly he could rise in the sport.

Steveson has now suggested that his move to the UFC may be closer than many expected, while speaking to The Schmo.

As he was signing off from the interview, he delivered a telling message about his future.

“Thank you for listening. Thank you for the interview and see y’all soon. It’s gonna be crazy when it comes, but it’s coming any day now,” he said.

It is unanimous that the heavyweight division has lost star power over the last few years. However, with Alex Pereira moving up, the UFC could add Steveson to its roster and restore momentum to the division.

Real American Freestyle move gives Gable Steveson high-level competition base

Alongside his MMA development, Steveson has also committed to Real American Freestyle wrestling. The promotion has quickly established itself as a competitive platform featuring elite-level talent.

It includes several former UFC fighters and even active names such as Arman Tsarukyan. That environment offers the 25-year-old exposure to opponents with experience at the highest level of combat sports.

The move also reflects his continued connection to wrestling, where he first built his reputation. He remains one of the most decorated heavyweights of his generation, combining athleticism with technical dominance.
