Jordan Addison breaks silence on legal issues ahead of first Vikings training camp practice

The Minnesota Vikings are currently bracing for a potential suspension of wide receiver Jordan Addison. He was initially charged with Driving Under the Influence in California, stemming from an incident in July of 2024. He ended up pleading guilty to a lesser charge of wet reckless, which led to a fine and probation.

On Wednesday, ahead of the first training camp practice, Addison spoke to reporters for the first time about the incident and is ready to put it behind him.

"You know, everything is out of my control right now. So whatever they got for me, I'll be prepared with whatever decision they make."

Jordan Addison speaks on legal issues

It makes sense what Addison said, as he is waiting like the rest of us for a potential suspension to be levied by the National Football League. He was asked right after his initial comments about why he took a plea deal instead of going through a trial.

"Just, to get it all behind me and just get on with the season."

That is where we currently are. Addison is primed to be a major impact for the Vikings this upcoming season, especially with J.J. McCarthy set to become the starting quarterback for the Vikings.

Until we hear about what a potential suspension will be for the Vikings, it's all going to be about getting McCarthy ready for the season. A Driving Under the Influence charge usually brings a three-game suspension. New Orleans Saints safety Marcus Maye was given that exact suspension when he also agreed to a plea deal in 2023.

The NFL doesn't levy a suspension until the legal process is complete. They also don't necessarily factor in what the punishment from the judicial system is when they give out their own, as the personal conduct policy is it's own thing.

News of a suspension could come any day, and Addison is ready for whatever comes.
