The Minnesota Vikings allowed veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen to walk in free agency this offseason, replacing him with their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, USC's Jordan Addison.
Addison was expected to take over Thielen's role as the Vikings' No. 2 receiver across from superstar Justin Jefferson, but with Jefferson currently on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the rookie has been thrust into the top spot on the depth chart.
After showing flashes of brilliance throughout the early part of the season, Addison had a full-on breakout performance in Monday night's upset victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Addison hauled in seven receptions for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns from Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, including this incredible 60-yarder that saw him rip the ball away from a would-be defender, turning a potential turnover into a highlight-reel touchdown:
With Addison clearly proving himself worthy of the WR1 role in the NFL, the 1-2 punch he'll provide once Jefferson returns to the lineup could be unstoppable for Minnesota.
