The wide receiver one discussion has been the big topic of conversation around the Green Bay Packers since Wednesday, when running back Josh Jacobs said the team should add a proven player at the position to get over the hump in 2025—and Davante Adams was mentioned as an option, generating reactions on the roster.
On Thursday, quarterback Jordan Love entered the discussion. During an ESPN appearance on NFL Live, Love said he trusts the current room to evolve.
"I think we have different guys that can play and do different things. We have a deep receiving room, obviously Tucker Kraft. We got a lot of guys that can grow into that role," Love said. "I think we're still young, we're still building this thing. Guys are still proving themselves".
“If you add a really good player to a really good offense, I think the sky’s the limit.”

Nevertheless, Jordan Love is not against adding another piece.
"Josh (Jacobs) made those comments. I love the guys we have," Love added. "I always say, if you add good players to an already good offense, you can make it a better team."
The best wide receiver in free agency might be Tee Higgins, if the Cincinnati Bengals don't apply a franchise tag on him. Curiously, the Packers passed on Higgins in 2020 to draft Love in the first round. Love shared his thoughts on the offensive weapon.
"Tee is a phenomenal player, I know Tee pretty well," Love stressed. "If you add a really good player to a really good offense, the sky is the limit."
The wide receiver one discussion is particularly important because Christian Watson is expected to miss two thirds of the season with a torn ACL. Without him, the room has Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Malik Heath. Bo Melton is an exclusive-rights free agent and will probably be back as well.
