Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has all eyes on him as he is about to embark on his second season as a full-time starter. With his growing popularity comes the trend of his No. 10 jersey flying off the racks as fans continue to show support for him and Green Bay.
Speaking of which, Love was recently asked about how he ended up with the No. 10 jersey, with the former Utah State Aggies signal-caller revealing a personal reason behind the digits.
“My dad wore number 10 when he was in high school," Love said, via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "That was like a tribute to him. When I was younger, I started wearing 10. I think, like, sixth grade, seventh grade I started wearing 10, and it kind of just stuck with me. Definitely a tribute to my dad, he wore number 10.”
Love and the Packers are looking to build on the surprising success they had in the 2023 campaign where they managed to make it to the NFL playoffs despite entering the first year of the post-Aaron Rodgers era. Love was definitely a big part of Green Bay’s impressive showing in 2023, as he recorded 4,159 passing yards and 32 touchdowns with 11 interceptions across 17 starts.
On Friday, the Packers will open their season away from home, as they have a scheduled Week 1 date with the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
