Jordan Love reveals the last time he spoke with Aaron Rodgers

“Obviously, me and Aaron, we’ve got a good relationship,” Love said. “I talked to him probably a week before I got out here.”

Love was also asked whether he was ready to take over for Rodgers this year – should he need to do.

“A hundred percent,” he said.

“Obviously, this is a time where I’m getting a lot of extremely valuable reps that I might not have been getting in a normal circumstance. So I’m just going to take it day by day. … But yeah, that’s what I’m here for. I was drafted here to play quarterback, so I’ll definitely be ready Week 1.”

All that being said, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the situation between Rodgers and the Packers is still salvageable.

“No one has told me that Aaron Rodgers is definitely not coming to camp,” Rapoport said on "The Rich Eisen Show" this week.

“No one has told me he’s never playing for the Packers again unless this or that happens. He’s had opportunities to say publicly and send messages privately that he wants to get traded – I have not heard that. To me, it’s more ‘can this issue get solved before training camp,’ rather than a staredown.”

At this point, there seem to be two feasible options on the table.

One, Rodgers returns to the fold, he and the Packers kiss and make up and everyone moves on in 2021-22.

Or two – Rodgers forces his way out to a team he really seems to have his eye on, Love takes over, and a new era begins in Green Bay.

Which scenario will ultimately become reality? We’re just a few months away from finding out for sure.
