After newly minted Philadelphia Eagles center Brett Toth received his first start at the position in the Week 8 38-20 win over the New York Giants, starting left tackle Jordan Malaita talked to 94WIP about the first time he met the West Point alum.

"That chatter was there's this guy from Army, he's a tackle and we just brough him in to workout. I'm like man he's here to take my job. I still don't know what the hell Army was, I didn't know it was a bloody college... I'm sitting there thinking this guy plays tackle? I'm cooked. I'm going to be shipped back to Australia before this thing even begins. Then we went out to practice and I saw him kick step and I was like, I'm good... but that's one of my best friends on the team, crazy how everything works out."

Eagles fans can't help but love Toth after everything he has done so far

Toth's career has been nothing but linear since graduating from West Point in 2018. He had to serve a year of Active Duty before being allowed to pursue a professional sports opportunity under the policy on service academy athletes. The Eagles signed Toth in 2019, before waiving him, and he joined the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to part of 2020.

Toth enjoyed a solid four-season stint with Philadelphia from 2020 to 2023, appearing in 17 games and making one start, until the Carolina Panthers claimed him off the Eagles' practice squad in October of 2023. The Eagles re-signed Toth to their active roster in December of 2023, and he's since found a niche providing quality offensive line depth.

In 2025, Toth has been called upon to provide a bit more stability this season, starting two games while appearing in eight. In Week 8, Toth's appearance at center helped the Eagles propel both Tank Bigsby and Saquon Barkley to over 100 yards, giving Philadelphia their best rushing output of the season with 276 yards.

With Toth able to step in for an injured Cam Jurgens and provide leadership and stability, the Eagles once again have found another asset for offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland to plug and play when needed.
