Like the rest of the NFL, the Buffalo Bills found out  their full schedule on Wednesday.

Josh Allen and the Bills will have a lot of eyes on them this season as they attempt to finally get over the hump and represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Their schedule included a big gift that should help their efforts, and many around the league are probably jealous.

The NFL granted the Bills a big favor with a Week 7 bye week

When it comes to the bye week, most players will tell you that they want it to be as close to the middle of the season. Weeks 7 to 10 are typically the most coveted bye weeks, and the Bills were given one in that range. The Bills were assigned a Week 7 bye week by the NFL. Meaning their first six games of the season come before the bye and their final 11 come after.

The earliest a team can be assigned a bye week is Week 5, and the latest is Week 14. Both of these would be considered disadvantageous. Two of the Bills' AFC East divisional rivals ended up with byes pretty late in the year, with the Miami Dolphins scheduled for Week 12 and the New England Patriots scheduled for Week 14. The Bills have already entered the year as the clear favorites to repeat as the winners of the AFC East. And getting this bye should help them finish as one of the best teams in the AFC yet again. Maybe even as the top seed to ensure the entire AFC has to go through Buffalo to make it to the Super Bowl.
