Josh Allen Announces Problem in Bills Offense

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen helped deliver a 37-34 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams, but his comments revealed a concern the offense must address.

Allen acknowledged that he has been “fighting mechanically” and struggling to find a consistent rhythm. The admission came after Buffalo needed late heroics to escape with a victory.

Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception against Los Angeles. He also rushed for 121 yards and a score, using his legs to keep the offense moving when the passing game stalled.

His ground production helped Buffalo overcome mistakes, including two fumbles by running back James Cook. But relying on Allen’s mobility every week is a difficult formula if his throwing mechanics remain unsettled.

Buffalo’s offense has struggled to sustain drives in recent weeks. The Week 4 loss to New England exposed how quickly turnovers and stalled possessions can undermine the unit.

Allen’s ability to make plays outside the pocket remains a major advantage. However, the Bills need cleaner execution from the pocket to keep defenses from loading up against the run or forcing Allen to manufacture every important gain.

The timing matters because Buffalo faces the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. Las Vegas has questions of its own, but the Bills cannot assume Allen’s athleticism will cover every offensive issue.

Head coach Joe Brady and Allen must identify what is disrupting the quarterback’s mechanics and find ways to restore consistency. One difficult passing performance does not mean the offense is broken, especially after a road win, but Allen’s assessment gives Buffalo an area to address.

The Bills escaped Los Angeles with a victory. Improving Allen’s rhythm as a passer would make the offense less dependent on last-minute rescues and give Buffalo a steadier path through the season.
