Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen squeaked past Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to win the NFL's MVP Award on Thursday.
Allen garnered 27 first-place votes to Jackson's 23 and barely beat him with an overall score of 383-362. Still, it was a well-deserved win for Allen after having one heck of a season, finishing with 3,731 yards through the air, 28 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also compiled 102 carries for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
He led the Bills to the AFC Championship Game before they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by a field goal, 32-29.
After winning MVP, Allen gave one heck of a speech and shouted out his parents for always being there to watch him play.
“In my 20-plus years of playing football going down to pop warner I bet you they’ve missed maybe 15 games in their entire life," Allen said.
It doesn't matter if it's the NFL, college, high school, or even youth league, his parents have always been there every step of the way, offering their support.
He's one of the five best quarterbacks in the league and it's going to stay that way for quite some time.
He's hoping to deliver a Super Bowl to the Bills fanbase since the Bills are one of a handful of teams who have never won a Super Bowl. At some point, they'll have to slay the dragon (the Kansas City Chiefs) in the playoffs or someone will have to take them out before the Bills can play them.
Allen will spend the offseason getting ready for the 2025 season, which will start in September.
The 2024 season will end this Sunday with the Kansas City Chiefs playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
