The Jacksonville Jaguars have one of the more special players in the league that the national media won't talk to you about. He never really gets thrown in that best defender category or debate, but he is there, for sure.
And now, after doing the unthinkable against the Carolina Panthers, I feel like you have to talk about him in that discussion. Josh Allen, the Jaguars pass rusher, not the Buffalo Bills pass-thrower, is elite, and this season proved that once more.
Now, during a crucial game against the Panthers, he has submitted himself as maybe one of the best Jaguars defenders ever. What he did on Sunday only proves that, as he broke one of the bigger single-season records in franchise history.
Here is what the Jaguars PR team tweeted out about Josh Allen's career day against the Panthers:
Josh Allen has recorded 3.0 sacks in today's matchup. His 16.5 sacks this season set the single-season franchise record previously set by DL Calais Campbell in 2017.

The Jaguars have been so fortunate to have a guy as good as Allen, even if his secret remedy for staying healthy is raw onions. Yes, you read that right. Allen is truly a special character and football player, and it has been a blessing to get to watch him play football.
But, even with this record broken, that doesn't mean everything else will start to go down. Allen is still pretty young at 26 years old. Don't be shocked when he sets the Jaguars' all-time sack record next season. He is only 11 sacks away from that after this win over the Panthers.
