Josh Allen on Brink of NFL History in Bills Wild-Card Playoff Game

It won't be easy, but given the way things have gone for Josh Allen and the Bills in this season, it's entirely possible. Allen could make history when the Bills open up their playoff run against the Broncos on Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.

Allen made clear heading into the game that he and the Bills are not planning on making any changes once the postseason begins--they're 13-4, after all, the only team to beat a fully loaded Chiefs bunch this year.

“Continue with the preparation that we've had all year,” Allen said this week. “I think it's a quote that my college coach had, it was, 'You dance with who brung you.' We're not going to try to change anything, don't have to do more or less, just trying to continue doing what we're doing and make sure that we're executing at a high level.”

While this was not Allen's most prolific year, it was his most effective. He threw for 28 touchdowns and a career-low six interceptions. And history shows that when it comes to playing in the wild-card round, he is a good bet.

As StatMuse pointed out , Allen has 13 touchdowns in five wild-card games, which ranks third in the history of the NFL's wild-card round. He is just two touchdowns behind Aaron Rodgers on the list, and only three behind Ben Roethlisberger

Allen would need three touchdowns to tie Roethlisberger for the all-time lead, a feat he has accomplished three times this season and 25 times in his career.

Against a tough Denver defense, that is asking a lot. But it's within his capability. Allen did have one of his three-touchdown games against the Dolphins, who ranked No. 7 in touchdown passes allowed, at 22 -- tied with the Broncos.
