Josh Allen once again delivered in the spotlight, leading the Buffalo Bills to a 31-21 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. Playing through a swollen, bandaged nose under a protective visor, the 29-year-old completed 22 of 28 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns.

One of those scores gave him his 300th career offensive touchdown (including playoffs), making him the fastest quarterback in NFL history to hit the milestone, surpassing Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in the process. The win pushed Buffalo to 3-0 and extended their dominance over Miami, as Allen continues to thrive against an AFC East rival.

Despite the Dolphins’ strong showing, Allen took charge in moments where the game could have tilted the other way. The visitors tied the score in the fourth quarter, but Buffalo answered with Allen finding Khalil Shakir, and putting the Bills ahead for good.

Following Allen’s impressive performance, Buffalo wasted no time celebrating its quarterback. On Friday morning, the team’s official X account posted a graphic featuring Allen. The image featured a new nickname for Allen that read “Mr Thursday,” now the latest tag attached to the quarterback’s growing legacy.

The numbers behind the moniker tell their own story. Allen is now a perfect 8-0 in Thursday night appearances, a streak that proves his ability to thrive on short weeks in primetime. He also extended Buffalo’s dominance over Miami, with the franchise now holding 13 wins in their last 15 regular-season meetings with the Dolphins.

For a quarterback already viewed as one of the league’s most dangerous weapons, Allen’s consistency and ability to perform under the brightest lights has been noteworthy this season, and he has shown no signs of slowing down.

Josh Allen Continues Chase for Second Consecutive MVP Award

Amid another strong outing, the reigning MVP is quickly building momentum for a repeat. Through three weeks, Allen has totaled 755 passing yards, five touchdowns and has yet to throw an interception. He has completed 69.7 percent of his passes and holds a 108.8 passer rating.

His command of the offense has Buffalo looking like early AFC favorites, and his individual efficiency is the kind of production that keeps him at the forefront of the MVP race.

Allen and the Bills will look to continue their unbeaten start when they host the New Orleans Saints, a team still searching for its first win of the season ahead of its Week 3 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Another big performance could push Allen even further ahead in the early-season MVP conversation.
