Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took home the MVP award on Thursday night at the annual NFL Honors ceremony.
Allen had plenty of competition for this year's award. Many fans thought Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the favorite, but Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley also had a strong case to be MVP. The other two nominees were Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Immediately after Allen accepted the MVP award, he acknowledged the other nominees with a very classy message.
"I'd like to acknowledge the other nominees," Allen said. "Jared, Joe, Saquon and Lamar all had great seasons and could be standing here today and be deserving of it. You guys are true stewards of the game. I look up to you guys, I admire you guys, and I look forward to sharing the gridiron with you guys in the future.
Allen then thanked his family for always supporting him throughout his football journey.
"I'd like to thank Joel and LaVonne, my parents, who in my 20-plus years of playing football going down to Pop Warner, I bet you they've missed maybe 15 games in their entire life. They are so dedicated to supporting me and my favorite teammates, who are my sister, my brother and my little sister. Thank you guys for all the support, all the time, money, energy wasted growing up going from meet to game to practice everyday. I love you guys. I know you take a lot of pride in this as well."

Allen then gave his fiancée, Hailee Steinfeld, a heartfelt shoutout.
"You’ve been my rock, you are my best friend," the MVP said. "I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you."
During the 2024 regular season, Allen and Steinfeld got engaged. They have been fairly quiet about their love life, but on Thursday night everyone got a glimpse of how special their bond is.
Before Allen left the stage, he had this brief message for everyone in the building: "Be good, do good, God bless and go Bills."
If there were any questions about Allen's character, he erased them on Thursday night. His speech was everything you want from a star athlete.
Congratulations to Allen on his MVP season.
