Josh Allen Wins Big with Bills ‘Most Underrated’ Receiver

The Buffalo Bills were able to make it to the AFC Championship this past season. While they were once again taken down by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, they still had a very solid season.

And it was due in no small part to some solid play from their offensive weapons.

In a recent article by PFF's Jonathon Macri, he outlines who he thinks is the most underrated player on every team. For the reigning AFC East champions, he thinks that player is wide receiver Khalil Shakir.

"Shakir has been a stable contributor for the Bills’ receiving corps over the past two seasons, and he stepped up significantly in 2024 in Stefon Diggs‘ absence, leading the team in targets, receiving yards, PFF receiving grade, and yards per route run," Macri writes. "Shakir placed in the top 25 for the position in all of those categories."

Losing a player like Diggs should take a toll on a team, but Josh Allen clearly did not miss a beat, as he won the NFL Most Valuable Player Award this past season.

A key factor in him being able to do this was the solid play of Shakir. He finished the year with 821 yards and four touchdowns, showing that the Bills are more than just Allen getting it done with his legs.

Shakir and the rest of the Bills will be looking to get to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1994, and win the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history.
