Josh Allen was able to stay in the game on Sunday as the Buffalo Bills took on the Philadelphia Eagles in a Week 17 matchup. Allen was seen limping during the game, favoring his right leg, but the reigning NFL MVP played through the issue to close out the contest.

Allen finished with 23-of-35 completed passes for 262 yards and zero touchdowns, but he was able to log seven carries for 27 yards and two rushing TDs. It wasn’t enough, though, as the Bills lost a close one to the defending champions, 13-12.

Buffalo fell to 11-5 after the loss, allowing the New England Patriots to clinch the AFC East title.

The Bills have one more game left to play in the regular season before they head into the playoffs. This comes in the form of a Week 18 showdown against the 3-13 New York Jets. Buffalo enters that game as the No. 7 seed in the AFC, but it can still finish fifth in the conference depending on Week 18 results.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network provided a crucial update on Allen on Monday. According to the senior NFL reporter, Allen should be good to go on Sunday against the Jets.

"Josh Allen is going to be good to go for the Buffalo Bills ahead of week 18," Rapoport said. "... My understanding is he is going to be ready to go.

“Two weeks in a row of getting X-rays on his foot, two weeks in a row of limping after the game, that is a thing, at least certainly worth us talking about. But all indications are he is fine and actually in a better place than he was last week."

As Rapoport indicated in his report, Allen got X-rays done on his right foot on Sunday, immediately after the loss to the Eagles. The results came back clean, though, which is an indication that the five-time Pro Bowl quarterback is healthy enough to play through this lingering foot issue.

Rapoport also pointed out, however, that it remains unclear what type of approach the Bills will take heading into their last game. Buffalo can either go for broke and try to get that No. 5 seed or opt to give its starters a lighter workload in the regular season finale with a playoff berth already secured.

The Bills will host the Jets on Sunday, with kickoff from Highmark Stadium scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET.
