Suspended wide receiver Josh Gordon is looking to offload a piece of historic memorabilia, and it'll probably sell for a boatload of cash.
The 29-year-old has placed his Super Bowl LIII ring with Heritage Auctions for its memorabilia auction in August, according to Pro Football Talk. The ring, according to the auction house, is valued at $100,000.
Gordon was a member of the New England Patriots squad that defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in 2019. However, he did not play in the Super Bowl due to a suspension, but the Patriots awarded him a ring because he contributed to the team during the regular season.
Unfortunately, it's possible that Gordon is selling the ring because he needs money after losing out on millions of dollars from multiple suspensions for violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.
Gordon is attempting to apply for reinstatement, but there's been no word on whether or not the NFL will allow him back for another time.
The wide receiver spent the 2019 season split between New England and the Seattle Seahawks. He reeled in 27 receptions for 426 yards and one touchdown in 11 games.
