Josh Hokit Goes Off On Daniel Cormier After Being Blasted Over White House Comments

Josh Hokit backed up everything he said before UFC White House, knocking out Derrick Lewis exactly like he predicted he could. The win itself should’ve been the whole story. Instead, his post-fight speech became the story. Daniel Cormier was among those who took issue with Hokit’s controversial speech. The ex-UFC champion publicly criticized him, prompting an immediate response from the ex-NFL star.

Hokit used his moment at the mic to go after Michelle Obama with comments that crossed well past trash talk into something a lot of people found genuinely offensive. The backlash was immediate, and it hasn’t really stopped since. Cormier was one of the loudest voices pushing back. DC said Hokit’s statement divides the country. Hokit didn’t take that quietly.

“I’ve been nothing but nice to this fat cow pig. I’m not here for unity, in reality there will never be unity…I come to divide people’s faces. If you don’t like it then come do something about it,” Hokit responded.

Hokit just delivered the best win of his career and immediately overshadowed it with commentary that’s now defining the conversation around him more than the knockout itself. Cormier’s reaction reflects what a lot of people in the sport seem to be feeling. Whether the UFC says anything officially remains to be seen.

Dana White Condemns Josh Hokit’s Post-Fight Speech

White also addressed the controversy. The UFC president condemned Hokit’s comments and made it clear he disagreed with them. Over the years, White has largely allowed fighters to speak their minds, but he publicly distanced himself from Hokit’s remarks.

“I understand that the Obama’s are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense,” White said.

Hokit, meanwhile, has shown no signs of changing his stance. After exchanging words with Cormier, the former NFL player doubled down on his comments and has yet to indicate that he plans to walk them back. Whether the UFC takes any further action remains unclear.
