It was an eventful weekend for Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. While the roster enjoys a break between the end of the offseason program and the start of training camp, Jacobs participated in IndyCar Series' Fastest Seat in Sports on Sunday. The Packers' offensive star led the NTT IndyCar Series field to the start of the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America Presented by AMR in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

"It's been a great experience," Jacobs told Fox Sports during the event. "I got to meet a lot of the guys. Scotty [McLaughlin] is a really cool guy. Just talking to him about the ins and outs. A lot goes into this. It's interesting to see firsthand."

Jacobs joins a list of celebrities in a custom Icar with a special back passenger seat. The project has also had legendary quarterback Tom Brady and former baseball player Alex Rodriguez. Others who participated in the ride included music superstars Diplo, Jon Bon Jovi and Riley Green, actors Judge Reinhold and Dylan Sprouse, reality TV star Mary Bonnet, and American Olympic gold medalist Sam Watson.

The NTT IndyCar Series is North America's premier open-wheel racing series with drivers competing at speeds of 200+ mph across a thrilling and demanding set of ovals and road and street circuits.

Thankfully for the Packers, Josh Jacobs left the event fully healthy as he prepares for his second season with the team. Last offseason, Jacobs signed a four-year, $48 million contract with Green Bay.

In his first season with the Packers, the running back made the Pro Bowl for the second time in his NFL career after reaching 1,671 scrimmage yards and 16 total touchdowns. This year, he is slated to make $8.2 million — the cheapest year of his contract for the Packers.

A first-round pick back in 2019, Josh Jacobs played his first five NFL seasons for the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. Now, he’s already creating strong connections with the state of Wisconsin.
