Josh Jacobs and the Green Bay Packers have taken some stumbles of late, having failed to get a win in either of their last two games. That includes their 40-40 tie with the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The neutral result of the Cowboys game, however, can’t surely be blamed on the lack of effort from the running back. Jacobs continues to be a gift that keeps on giving on the ground for the Packers’ attack.
Against the Cowboys, Jacobs posted 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. In addition, the former Alabama Crimson Tide star led Green Bay with 71 receiving yards on four catches and four targets.
On Wednesday, Jacobs hopped on social media and posted a short message via Instagram Stories.
“Locked in,” the 27-year-old Jacobs wrote in a post that came on a black background.
Jacobs did not specify what he was referring to with it, but it could be about the job at hand with the Packers.
After winning the first two games against the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders, many viewed the Packers as the top team in the league. That notion has clearly taken a hit following the loss in Week 3 to the Cleveland Browns and the outcome of the Dallas game.
The good news for Jacobs and the Packers is that they have time to address any issues that led to a winless two-game road trip.
Green Bay has a bye in Week 5 and will be back in action with a home game in Week 6 against the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals.
On the season, Jacobs has 266 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 80 carries. That checks out for just an average of 3.3 yards per carry, but Jacobs could improve that in the coming games, as Green Bay gets healthier, particularly on the offensive line.
