The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are done with mini camp and now enter the month and a half period where there are no football activities. No games to watch, no practices to hype up. Just the long boring months of the offseason.
However, before that starts, I think it’s good to take stock on where things stand right now. What do we think of this Bucs roster as we head into the offseason? Where do they stand in the NFC?
To have realistic expectations, we have to determine how good this team really is. With that said, here are my offseason NFC power rankings.
With no real quarterback or defensive pieces to hang their hat on, it’s hard to view the Cardinals as anything other than the worst team in the NFC.
I like the pass catchers, but I’m not ready to buy into the quarterback yet and the defense has a lot of holes.
I like the direction, but they are still a year or two away from challenging for the playoffs.
Some really nice pieces here, especially at quarterback, but there are also a lot of holes.
Feels like Micha Parsons has to carry too much weight on defense and there isn’t really a star on offense that can help carry this team.
I like so much about what the Falcons are building, but the quarterback situation will hold them back.
Very much like the Falcons, the Vikings has a lot of good to work with, but questions at quarterback. And while I like the quarterback and coaching staff better in Minnesota, I don’t know that the overall roster is great.
This starts the tier of playoff contenders. I like a lot of what the Eagles have, but I don’t love the quarterback or coaching staff. And with the departure of AJ Brown, I’m not sure this is a top tier team in the NFC.
The Panthers are a team on the rise. However, I still believe that they are limited on offense. Can Bryce Young take the next step in development? I have my doubts.
There are some rosters that I have lower which I like better than Chicago. However, Ben Johnson is looking like a great young head coach. I believe in what he’s building.
The 49ers look very good on paper. At the same time, they’re also an older team. Can they hold up over the grind of a full season and make a deep playoff run? I’m not sure.
The Cowboys have been building in the trenches and I love that. With strong quarterback play and a defense that I believe will take a step forward, this is my favorite to win the NFC East.
I really like this team up front. A great offensive and defensive line will be hard to deal with for opponents. I think this can be a top five offense and a very stout defense up front. If these young corners prove to be the real deal then watch out for the Bucs as a Super Bowl contender.
Elite playmakers across the board. I have questions with the defense, but they have some top tier talent on that side of the ball as well. They have a punchers chance against anybody.
I think the Seahawks take a step back this year, but this is me giving the champs their respect. Plus that defense should still be very good.
The Rams are the team to beat. They have the MVP, the defensive player of the year and a bunch of other really good players throughout the roster. This is the no doubt Super Bowl favorite as of today.
