One of the biggest highlights of  Tom Brady ’s Netflix Roast was the former New England Patriots exes’ reconciliation on stage, as they toasted together. But that happened quite later that night! When  Bill Belichick and  Robert Kraft met each other amidst their ongoing Cold War, the tension between them could have cut glass– as claimed by former players.

In a recent episode of the “Games with Names” podcast, Julian Edelman and Drew Bledsoe opened up about their experience at Netflix’sGreatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady,” where they were especially invited to roast the NFL legend. While talking about it, the two gave some quite interesting fraught moments from backstage, before the sage of jokes began its course.

They revealed, that there was some “real tension” begin the Patriots owner and former head coach, amidst their ongoing public feud which is the reason why Belichick parted ways with the Patriots and also failed to find any other coaching job in the league.

Julian Edelman and Drew Bledsoe witness the Robert Kraft-Bill Belichick standoff

The former Super Bowl MVP, Edelman shared how he along with Bledsoe and some other Patriots players were sitting backstage together with Belichick, who then started opening up to his coached players and having some fun with them. But then Kraft entered the room and the tension between them got so loud.

The tension in that room though… could cut (expletive) glass. It was very real, it was very real. [Bill] Belichick’s kind of holding court, while as he’s in the middle of this story, Kraft walks in and you guys all go over to say hi to [Robert] Kraft. The last man standing, to hear him tell it, is my bro. He’s like, ‘Well, Bill’s telling this story, if I leave then he’s telling the story to nobody because everybody is saying hi to Kraft.’ Drew Bledsoe said

Edelman further shared that he even tried to warn his former head coach about Kraft coming into the room, but he did not realize or see it. As soon as they came together in the same room, he stepped outside as he “didn’t want to be in there.”

Interestingly, Kraft and Belichick also talked for around ten minutes in the green room, as claimed by the former Patriots quarterback. But as the show began, host Kevin Hart did what no one had expected as he encouraged the Patriots exes to toast together on stage, which they did to end their cold war.
