Just win, baby! Raiders defeat Chargers in OT to make playoffs

Daniel Carlson's game-ending 47-yard field goal in overtime lifted the Las Vegas Raiders over the Los Angeles Raiders, 35-32, and into the playoffs Sunday night.

Had the game ended in a tie, the Raiders and the Chargers would have both made the playoffs, and the Steelers -- who beat the Ravens earlier in the day -- would have been knocked out.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert engineered a shocking comeback late in the fourth quarter to force a 29-29 tie at the end of regulation. Herbert and company trailed 29-14 with under five minutes left in the fourth quarter before the quarterback hit Joshua Palmer for a touchdown and then Austin Ekeler on a two-point conversion.

On the final play from scrimmage in the fourth quarter, despite facing multiple fourth-down situations, Herbert eventually found Mike Williams for a touchdown pass. The extra point sent the contest to overtime.

Carlson hit a 40-yard field goal on the Raiders' first possession in overtime to give Las Vegas a 32-29 lead. The Chargers tied it with a field goal before Carlson made his 47-yard field goal to win it.
