"I'm glad we're talking about it because why do people take social media so serious?" Fields asked Amon-Ra and Equanimous St. Brown.
Fields explained that he's just trying to stay away from football as he goes on vacation, which led to his decision not only to unfollow the Bears but the NFL official Instagram account.
"I still mess with the Bears," he clarified. "I'm just trying to take a little break from football. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL. I'm just not trying to have football on my timeline."
Fields entered the 2024 NFL offseason with an unclear future. The talented quarterback has been mentioned in several trade rumors in recent days, and many people believe his days with the Chicago Bears are numbered.
As things stand now, the Atlanta Falcons are considered the top landing spot for Fields, while other teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers could also try to lure him away from Soldier Field this offseason.
Chicago can pick Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft and move on from Fields, but only time will tell which path they decide to take.
