A big day for Justin Fields is just what the Jets offense needed for a bit of a confidence boost and rookie Mason Taylor played a big part in helping Fields do just that.
Fields was on fire during the session, completing his firs twelve passes of the day according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
Justin Fields’ best practice. Hit his first 12 passes, then finished with five straight incomplete passes. Was a little off in the red-zone period at the end, but overall accuracy was better than previous days. #Jets

It’s been an up and down camp for Fields thus far with consistency being somewhat of a concern. But as we pointed out just yesterday, it’s too early to worry about that just yet. And on cue, Fields had the offense humming. In what has become a seemingly daily occurrence, Fields hit Mason Taylor down the middle for a 25-yard touchdown pass.
Another practice, another Mason Taylor touchdown, 25-ish yards. Quick, accurate throw from Justin Fields — who is having a great practice.

It wasn’t all Justin Fields on the day either as the Jets got some plays from receivers catching the ball from Tyrod Taylor along with a few defensive standouts.
Undrafted rookie receiver Quentin Skinner, who has been very quiet up to this point, hauled in a deep touchdown from Taylor that got his teammates fired up.
Tyrod Taylor connected with Quentin Skinner on a bomb — when Skinner caught it the offense went crazy.

Skinner is a player who shouldn’t be slept on. He’s a huge target at 6′ 5”, has very good hands and is a very good blocker. His route running may not yet be on par with Allen Lazard, but his hands are far superior. Should the Jets opt to deal Lazard as some expect, it could create an opening for Skinner.
On defense, several observers reported a leaping athletic interception from second-year cornerback Quan’tez Stiggers from Tyrod Taylor as he continues to battle for a roster spot.
Rookie Arian Smith also had himself a big day in not only getting separation which few doubted he would be able to do.
Arian Smith again. The release, off-the-snap quickness is just insanity, as he beats AZ Thomas to the outside, makes it an easy RZ TD toss for Tyrod.

Smith showed off his elite acceleration in blowing past cornerback AZ Thomas on another touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor.
All in all, a huge day for Fields and plenty of plays from the youngsters to give the Jets some good vibes as they get ready for today’s Green and White practice at 8:30am.
