Justin Fields Predicted to Replace Future Hall of Fame QB

It was an interesting year for Steelers quarterback Justin Fields, who appeared in 10 games, completing 106-of-161 passes for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. He also ran the ball effectively for 289 yards and five touchdowns.

However, he was relegated to just six starts at the beginning of the season, leading them to a 4-2 record until a previously injured Russell Wilson returned and took back over for the rest of the season.

Now, after that one year with the Steelers, he's set to hit the open market, and Pro Football & Sports Network predicts that he will land with the New York Jets.

"The Jets kind of have a free shot at this year," they wrote. "There is no obvious quarterback option for them that can make them a competitor in 2025, so they have the chance to take a shot at some upside with Fields. If it works out, they may have found a long-term solution; if it does not, they go into the next offseason with a chance at finding a QB of the future."

This could give the Jets a more concrete option heading into the season, as there's no guarantee that the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft, Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, will be available at their No. 7 pick.

Fields would also be directly replacing Aaron Rodgers, who's been with the Jets for the past two years and, as a 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time MVP, is considered a lock to eventually make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

His signing likely wouldn't break the bank, as Spotrac predicts Fields to sign just a one-year contract worth $6.4 million.
