Sunday night's primetime game featured two of the best quarterbacks of their generation going toe-to-toe in what was an absolute spectacle. In the end, however, only one of them could prevail.
This turned out to be Justin Herbert as he led the Los Angeles Chargers to a hard-fought 34-27 victory against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Herbert finished the game with 17-of-36 completed passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns. The Pro Bowl QB also had five carries for an additional 65 yards.
After the game, Herbert was asked to share his thoughts on his clash against Burrow. The Chargers star made his opinion on his foe extremely clear.
"I've got a lot of respect for him," Herbert said, via Chargers reporter Alex Indorf on X. "He's an incredible competitor."
Herbert and Burrow got the chance to exchange pleasantries after the game and while it is unclear what was said between the two star quarterbacks during their brief exchange on the field, there's no denying that there's mutual respect between them.

Burrow did all he could for the Bengals on Sunday, completing 28-of-50 passes for 356 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed twice for 28 yards. It still wasn't enough, though.
Thanks to Herbert's heroics, the Chargers have now improved to 7-3, while the Bengals fall to 4-7.
