Justin Jefferson bestowed honor he's earned before and it should surprise nobody

The Minnesota Vikings don't just have the best wide receiver in the National Football League in Justin Jefferson, he's arguably the best player in the entire league. That was emphasized on Monday morning, as Jefferson was one of seven players given the title of being a 99 overall in Madden.

Justin Jefferson named 99 overall in Madden 26

Jefferson being one of the three returning members to the 99 club with Lamar Jackson and Myles Garrett isn't much of a surprise. He was tremendous this past season for the Vikings to the tune of 103 receptions for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns. You name it, and Jefferson can do it.

This is Jefferson's third time in the 99 club, which makes sense considering this is now Jefferson's sixth season. Last season, Jefferson joined the 99 club midseason after starting the season at 98 overall.

Jefferson is only the fourth player in Vikings history to become a 99 overall. Left guard Randall McDaniel (Madden 99), edge rusher Jared Allen (Madden 11) and running back Adrian Peterson (Madden 14) also have been in that position. McDaniel was one of the best guards in the history of the game, Allen had a near NFL record 22.0 sacks in 2011, and Peterson was coming off of an MVP season where he ran for 2,097 yards.

Jefferson was presented with a 99 chain ahead of Friday's practice by Vikings Hall of Famers Cris Carter and John Randle. It's a cool thing for Jefferson, who has certainly earned it.
